Be consistent,
not perfect.

You don't need a perfect week. You need a simple plan you can keep doing. I'm Dan, I've been a personal trainer for 16 years, and that's what I coach.

Dan Turner, coach at Forever Strong Coaching

The real problem

All-or-nothing is what stops most people.

Most people don't fail because the plan was wrong. They fail because they treat it like a light switch. On or off. A perfect week, then one bad day, and it's all off again.

Treat it like a dial instead. Busy week? Turn it down. Don't turn it off. Two sessions instead of four still counts.

How I coach it

1

Plan

Your training days, your sessions and your meals are decided in advance, so there are fewer decisions to talk yourself out of.

2

Track

Food, weight, sessions and a photo now and then. On the bad days too, because that is where you learn the most.

3

Repeat

A plan you can still do in a busy week, done most weeks. That is what changes things.

4

Adjust slowly

Most weeks the right call is to change nothing. When something does need to change, it changes a little.

“Words alone will not express how much Dan has changed my life. I linked up with Dan at a point when my health was of a concern and felt I needed some help to address these issues and improve my health.

Dan has without question changed my life for the better. He listened to my worries and tailored a training and nutrition program that worked for me and my lifestyle. Up until this point I didn’t really exercise or go to the gym so was nervous about embarking on a fitness programme!

With his expert direction and coaching I have lost weight, changed my body shape, changed my diet and seen my blood pressure reduce.

I have never felt so well (fit and healthy) and I now really enjoy my new lifestyle and I’m keen to exercise!

I am now considering running a half marathon and who knows what might happen next……

I would highly recommend Dan, with his support my overall health and well being is very much improved.”

Andy, age 59

“Currently living in Switzerland, after having left the UK. I have been using Dan’s online 1-2-1 personal coaching for the last 18months. I had previously known Dan a few years back and used his 1-2-1 face to face coaching in helping to get fit and tone up.

I came back to Dan as I liked his holistic way of devising the personal exercise and nutritional plan. Dan is professional, fun and has a lot of patience to help me to get through a tough year in achieving my personal fitness goals.

He has devised a personal plan to help me train to become stronger, fitter and achieve several running races including my first 1/2 marathon this year. All this support has changed my perspective on exercise training and nutrition in making a positive lifestyle change.

Dan is a fantastic coach that I would highly recommended whether you can have it face to face or online!”

Allanagh, age 39

“I started working with Dan after I saw the amazing transformation of my husband who completed the 28 day transformation back in January ‘24! I have always loved to exercise but struggled with nutrition due to lots of conflicting advice.

I’ve tried every diet/nutrition plan out there and initially get good results but none of these previous options have been sustainable!!

Since working with Dan I have lost weight, gained muscle mass but most importantly for me my nutrition is on track…I don’t see it as a diet, I see it as a way of life!! It’s sustainable, manageable and makes sense!

The tracking of my nutrition along with an excellent exercise plan has really changed my mindset! I don’t feel like any of this is a chore, it’s part of my lifestyle and routine.

My life is crazy, running my own, very busy business. Dan has helped and supported me to navigate my way through the bumps in the road and still maintain my routine. My energy levels have increased, my fatigue has lessened and I’m getting stronger.

I’m now moving onto a new phase of gym workouts which I’m loving.

Dan is amazing…he is supportive, sets realistic goals but most importantly understands that we are only human.”

Who's coaching you

I'm Dan.

I've been a personal trainer for 16 years. I coach people in person in Bristol and South Gloucestershire, and online wherever they live.

I mostly work with people between 30 and 60, with jobs, families and not much spare time. They don't need a harder plan. They need one that fits, and someone to keep them at it.

I don't shout, and I don't do guilt. You'll get honest feedback, a plan that makes sense, and the occasional nudge.

Healthy

Habits you can realistically keep. Fitness should make your life better, not take it over, and you should understand why you're doing what you're doing.

A plan that bends when life does. A missed session or a hard weekend isn't failure. You pick it back up at the next opportunity.
